As you may have noticed, the majority of the restaurants I eat at and post about are in and around the city. This is mostly because I don't own a car, and getting to most restaurants outside of the city is more hassle than it's been worth. Thankfully, I have a boyfriend and friends who are happy enough to drive me around to find food.

To start off with, we had a massive bowl of sweet potato fries to share.
Sweet Potato Fries |
This stuff is addictive. I ended up eating half the bowl myself (sorry girls)! You can't go wrong with the sweetness of the fires and the salty crispness of the coating. I do usually prefer my fries to be thicker cut, but I'd certainly order these again, and would likely devour the entire bowl myself.
While technically an entree, the deep fried risotto balls were rich enough to substitute as a main. Soft on the inside and crunchy on the outside, they were deliciously cheesy and moreish.
Crispy beer battered fish fillets served with chips, home made tartare sauce & lemon wedges |
Beef and Mushroom Pie with sauteed butter beans and garlic mash |
Spicy roasted vegetables with chickpeas, sweet garlic, coriander and labna |
I ended up ordering a massive tangine of roasted vegetables - perfect for a winters day. The tart labna cut through the richness of the slightly spicy sauce and is in my eyes, necessary in this dish. All those vegetables filled me up without weighing me down although in hindsight, my rumbling belly before would have been happier with a little meat at lunch.
Bar Bosh serves up good, comforting food in a friendly (if chaotic) environment. There are plenty of options on the menu and there looks to be an option for everyone, no matter what dietary requirements they have. The service can be a little slow but it's friendly. Overall, a cozy and unpretentious restaurant that's perfect for spending time in with family and friends.
